Committees' recent meetings - 23 February 2022

Committees worked on the Labour, Education, Tourism and Domestic Violence bills, looked into domestic revenues, taxation and electricity smart meters, and investigated the fate of missing migrants. 

Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq chairs meeting to hear Veterinarians Syndicate's views on Law on Supervision of Agricultural Projects

Kurdistan Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq chaired a meeting of the KRG Ministry of Agriculture, Parliament's Legislative Committee, the Kurdistan Region Presidency's legal advisers and the Veterinarians Syndicate, to discuss the Law on Supervision of Agricultural Projects that was passed in December 2021.

Kurdistan Parliament Secretary Muna Kahveci on 10 February 2022 welcomed Mr. Choi Kwang-Koo, political adviser responsible for minorities at UNAMI’s Baghdad office. Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq and the Culture Committee discussed the need for the KRG to issue  special guidelines to implement Parliament’s Resolution No. 5 of 2013, the Agreement on Solidarity and Development between the authorities and NGOs.

Kurdistan Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq on 2nd February 2022 met with the Organization for Promotion of Democracy and Human Rights and discussed defining rights and freedoms in the draft Kurdistan Constitution.

In recent meetings committee met with the KRG Education Minister to discuss the Education Bill, asked Parliament's Diwan to improve protocol procedures at Parliament's branch offices, and met with Jordan's Consul General.

Committees discussed medicines' government licensing and registration stickers, and worked on the Tourism Bill and the Education Bill.
