Order of Business for sitting of 17 May 2023

The Speaker of the Kurdistan Parliament Dr. Rewaz Faiq calls MPs to a sitting on Wednesday 17th May 2023 at 12 noon, the third ordinary sitting of the spring session of the fifth year of the fifth term of Parliament. The Presidency of Parliament announces the order of business of the sitting as follows:

1) First reading of the Bill on Implementation of the Law on Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism, Iraqi Federal Law No. (39) of 2015, per Article 78 (paragraph 5) and articles 79 and 80 of Parliament’s Internal Rules of Procedure.

2) Voting on requests by the following honourable members to resign from their membership of Parliament, per Article 25 (paragraph 2, points 1 and 2) of Parliament’s Internal Rules of Procedure:

  1. Abdulsatar Majeed Qadir (Kurdistan Justice Group, KJG)
  2. Osman Ali Smail (KJG)
  3. Badriya Esmail Mahmud (KJG)
  4. Muslim Abdullah Qasri (KJG)
  5. Hawraman Hamasharif Hamarashid (Gacheney, KJG)
  6. Rupak Ahmad Rahman (KJG)

3) Resignation and appointment of the following members of Kurdistan Parliament’s standing committees, per articles 28 and 34 of Parliament’s Internal Rules of Procedure:

  1. Resignation of Mr. Balen Ismaeel Haji (Change) from the Integrity Committee.
  2. Appointment of Mr. Balen Ismaeel Haji (Change) to the Committee on Energy, Natural Resources, Commerce and Industry.
  3. Appointment of Mr. Dler Abdulkhaleq Haji (Change) to the Integrity Committee.
  4. Appointment of Ms. Soz Abdulqadir Abdulrahman (Change) to the Committee on Health, Environment and Consumer Rights.
  5. Appointment of Mr. Abdulla Hasan Hamad (IMK) to the Committee on Education, Higher Education and Scientific Research.
  6. Appointment of Mr. Abdullah Hasan Hamad (IMK) to the Committee on Municipalities, Communication, Transport and Tourism.
  7. Appointment of Ms. Layla Ali Abdulaziz (IMK) to the Committee on Endowments and Religious Affairs.
  8. Appointment of Ms. Layla Ali Abdulaziz (IMK) to the Committee on Protection of Women's Rights.
  9. Appointment of Ms. Beriwan Faqe Esmael Basu (Independent) to the Peshmerga Affairs Committee.
  10. Appointment of Ms. Beriwan Faqe Esmael Basu (Independent) to the Committee Agriculture and Irrigation.

4) Second reading of the following bills and draft resolutions, per articles 87, 88, 89 and 97 of Parliament’s Internal Rules of Procedure:

(i) Legislative Proposal on the Second Amendment to Law No. 3 of 2019, the Law on Ownership of on Ownership of Illegally Taken or Used Land in Kurdistan Region’s Municipalities.

(ii) Draft Resolution on the Burial of Martyrs.

The Presidency of the Kurdistan Parliament decides and announces the order of business of this sitting according to Parliament’s Internal Rules of Procedure, Article 5, Article 16 (paragraph 1), (Article 18 (paragraph 3), Article 20 (paragraphs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5), articles 47 and 48, Article 52 (paragraph 1) and articles 54, 55, 56 and 57.
