11th April 2019 - Parliament’s Committee on the Peshmerga, Interior, Security and Local Councils on 8th April met to discuss its plans and priorities of supporting stronger defence and security for the Kurdistan Region, and improving the lives of troops and veterans of the Peshmerga, the official military force of Kurdistan.

9 April 2019 - Parliament Speaker Dr. Vala Farid yesterday met the United States Consul General to the Kurdistan Region, Mr. Steven Fagin. Dr. Farid and Mr. Fagin discussed strengthening bilateral relations; the Consul General said he hoped for the Kurdistan Parliament to send a delegation to the US, to learn from Congress’s practices.
Parliament’s Legislative Committee submits final report on Kurdistan Region presidency bill
The Kurdistan Parliament’s Legislative Committee on 4th April discussed MP's suggested amendments and recommendations at the second reading of the bill to restore the functions and powers of the president of the Kurdistan Region. The committee then submitted its final report on the bill to Parliament's presidency.

Parliament holds second reading of bill to restore Kurdistan Region President’s powers
4 April 2019 - The Kurdistan Parliament yesterday debated for four hours at the second reading of a bill to restore the functions of the President of the Kurdistan Region; and to amend the election system for the presidency from public election to parliamentary vote, until a Kurdistan Region constitution is enacted in the future.
