Parliament’s Presidency announces business for 1st August: Second reading of draft resolution on designating 3rd August as Yazidi Genocide Remembrance Day

The Presidency of the Kurdistan Parliament calls MPs to an extraordinary sitting on Thursday 1st August 2019, at 11am, and announces the order of business for this fifth term’s 2nd extraordinary sitting:

Second reading of the draft resolution on designating 3rd August as the Yazidi Genocide Remembrance Day, per Articles 87, 88 and 89 of Parliament’s internal Rules of Procedure.

Kurdistan Parliament’s Presidency calls the extraordinary sitting per Article 8 (paragraph 1) of Parliament’s Rules of Procedure, and decides and announces the order of business of the sitting per Articles 16 (paragraphs 1, 2 and 3), 18 (paragraph 3), 54 (paragraphs 1 and 5) and Articles 47, 48, 52, 55, 56, and 57 of the Rules of Procedure.

Note: The Kurdistan Parliament started its Summer recess on 16th July. Under the procedural rules, during recess the Speaker can call MPs to extraordinary sittings.
