Kurdistan Parliament’s presidency and the heads of the parliamentary blocks held a special meeting on 4 April as the nation tackles the Corona virus outbreak and its consequences. They decided to scrutinize border points, food and medicine imports; to monitor the work of the special bodies tackling the Coronavirus outbreak; and to continue coordinating with the KRG on implementation of the Reform Law.

Kurdistan Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewas Faiq last week visited Halabja governorate authorities and the authorities in Garmian to discuss the measures against the Coronavirus outbreak. Parliament will formally consult with the Kurdistan Regional Government and governorates on help for people economically affected by the lockdown, the Speaker said.

Three committees of the Kurdistan Parliament on 27 and 28 March condemned the attack on journalist Adnan Rashid by unknown armed assailants at his home in Penjwin on 11 March, and called for the perpetrators to be found and brought to justice.
